I can literally see all the desync and lag swings because I capture every millisecond of video. I have had a much easier time parrying these draggers because I have a high FPS. The trouble with 60 FPS is that with fast weapons, especially claymore and daggers, when people drag you can barely see them make this whip like transitions. My FPS normally dips below 80 when smoke or other particles are present but thats common. I run at a minumum of 90 FPS while I record and about 120 when I am not. Most people who are only running at 60FPS cant see what really happens because their video isnt smooth enough. You need to run above average to maintain smooth video. Especially so when particles like smoke and fire come at you. When you run a MAX of 60 FPS you will undoubtedly run lower during high speed areas where your CPU is kicked in. Originally posted by Stiofan:I completely understand where the OP is coming from as I have experianced it myself as have a lot of my friends who play, I play at max settings and I get a constant 60fps, and average about 50ms or less ping and I still experiance the effects of lag/desyncs a lot, I strongly believe that the ping we see in game doesn't show the full story, maybe thats only the ping between you and the server maybe the ping between the server and you is much higher at times but we can't see this, who knows, But everyone tends to agree that the game is in desperate need of better netcode and decent servers. But please, just because you don't understand the explaination doesn t mean it isnt simple. If there is a simpler example of lag please, someone feel free to post it. It depends on both the quality of your intnenet as well as your PCs capabilities to process the information it recieves quickly and send it back to the server, all of which happening in the time it takes you to wipe your nose. You might get big lag spikes, you might get small ones. It is the computer trying to compensate for its delay. Thats what your computer experiences when there is lag. Now imagine that clocks second hand hand abrupty spinning clockwise to the correct position to match clock 1 again. Clock 2 represents you at 250 ping (1/4 second which is 250 milliseconds) and falls behind by 1/4 second every second for every second clock 1 ticks.Īfter 1 minute, clock 2 is now behind by 15 seconds. Clock number 1 runs on time and represents the server. 1 clocks mechanism is slower the other by 1/4 of a second. Lag, is the when your PC finaly catches up to the server because of your ping. Pings around 100 and over cause lag, 200 is going overboard. Much better FPSĦ0 FPS is the BARE minimum anything should run at and only if you were recording the game. I lowered my resolution to 1360-760, dropped some of the other settings like dynamic lights/shadows to medium, turned off Bloom, light shafts and particles down to low. I get between 90-120 FPS even on a video card thast not top of the line. Originally posted by Corporal Derpington First Class:
